PGIP-Technology offers real-world experience and training to get you ready for the job force upon graduating. Being virtual allows for a multi-level of training, projects, meetings, and leadership. The internship helps you by using your education, skills, and knowledge in a virtual environment that consists of training in Networking, Database, IT Support, Analytics, Business Development, Cybersecurity & Software Development; all using Cloud Systems. Projects include researching for new applications and software platforms, creating websites and developing marketing strategies for real-world clients, and supporting teams of student interns within a virtual learning environment. As you become more familiar with your department and the internship, the opportunity to take on a Leadership role may be available.

ANALYTICS & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

The Analytics and Business Development Department at PGIP-Tech will allow you to research and analyze data using systems and software that are typically only available in a business setting. Yet, you are not confined to one department. Be ready to collaborate with multiple departments, make meaningful connections, and share your opinion in an environment full of encouragement and motivation.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement in business operations and processes
  • Involved in the design or modification of business systems or IT systems
  • Interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their problems and needs
  • Gathers, documents, and analyzes business needs and requirements
  • Solves business problems and, as needed, designs technical solutions
  • Documents the functional and, sometimes, technical design of the system
  • Interacts with system architects and developers to ensure the system is properly implemented
  • Help test the system and create system documentation and user manuals

CYBERSECURITY

Cybersecurity engineers are the gatekeepers of information within an organization, responsible for the protection and security of the systems that store this data. They are in charge of the network and systems in a security capacity. They execute and plan security measures accordingly. Cybersecurity engineers help to keep attackers at bay by implementing safeguards that prevent intrusions and breaches. Cybersecurity engineers don’t work in isolation, though, and they are widely seen as being an extension of the IT department.

Some basic responsibilities that they must take on are:
  • Cybersecurity planning and policy creation
  • Protective measures
  • Vulnerability testing
  • Monitoring and reporting
  • Investigations and postmortem analysis

All roles are different, and cybersecurity engineering roles change according to company requirements and the nature of their cybersecurity operations.

DATABASE ANALYST

The Database Analyst will administer all database projects and ensure compliance with deadlines. This position will analyze all databases, monitor for all design specifications, prepare associate test strategies, and monitor the efficient quality of data for the enterprise. The Database Analyst will prepare reports for the status of projects and submit them to user management, perform regular analysis on all application software for the organization, monitor all queries from clients and managers, and assist in an effective resolution. They will also design and perform various tests on all systems. As a Database Analyst, it is your job to develop and perform tests on all relational database systems sourced from vendors or internal. You will manage and resolve all customer queries and provide all data extraction techniques for various businesses. You will also design and maintain various database environments on SQL server, design and evaluate an efficient backup recovery process for various databases, and prepare reports for various databases. You must be able to identify and resolve all problems and ensure appropriate tracking of issues on the same, analyze all database statistics and recommend changes if required, and monitor all internal and external data feeds for systems. Last but not least, you must be a team player. You will report to the Database
Team Manager.

DATABASE PROGRAMMER

The primary focus of the Database Programmer is to write instructions or algorithms, that will allow stored data to be organized, managed, accessed, and updated. The Database Programmer uses specific languages to write and test new database software, while others on the team update or repair existing programs. The Database Programmer is also required to write instructions and/or instruct employees on software, as well as, work on large projects involving many programmers (therefore, also a team player). This position will use tools that help speed up the programming process and concentrate on parts that are unique to a particular programming task. This position must have the ability to take initiative and work alone or with a group and will report to the Team Manager.

IT SUPPORT

The IT Support Department is responsible for making sure that any issues users may encounter are successfully resolved, as well as researching and planning for new software and processes that will be used by PGIP-Technology and their clients.

This includes our Freshdesk ticket support system. Completely built, maintained, and supported by the IT Support team and offering interns a knowledge base of information and support for any IT issues they may be having.

IT SYSTEMS NETWORK

The Network Department, partnered with Cybersecurity, provides the foundation for all work-related deliverables at PGIP-Technology. We create and maintain databases on the cloud2 server, manage vHosts for our client websites, and collaborate with other departments for network-related projects and tasks. Our work also extends to external clients who need network assistance. Together we collaborate and accomplish projects and tasks as part of the PGIP-Technology quantum team. As a team member of the Network department, you will have the opportunity to entangle and expand your portfolio of experience by working on the internal and external network and other related projects.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

The Software Development (SofDev) department provides the foundation for all programming deliverables at PGIP-Technology. We design, install, test, and maintain applications on the cloud2 server and collaborate with other departments for programming and database-related projects and tasks. Our work also extends to external clients who need application assistance. Together we collaborate and accomplish projects and tasks as part of the PGIP-Technology quantum team. As a team member of the Software Development department, you will have the opportunity to entangle and expand your portfolio of experience by working on internal and external software development related projects.

The role of the software development team manager is to conduct regular (team) meetings to discuss ideas, responsibilities, and working as a team. This includes private meetings to discuss progress with individuals as well. This position provides technical leadership for the design, implementation, and maintenance of an application, program and related systems. This position also oversees software development enhancements and develops a long-term strategy for applications and data storage. The Software Development Team Manager will be responsible for establishing policies and procedures related to programming and integrity, and monitors and limits access as needed. The team manager relies on extensive knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals. In this position, you must be able to not only manage but lead others and be flexible. The team manager reports to top management, such as the Director, or Vice President of PGIP-Technology and works with the Project Manager, as necessary.
